Simple Does It | Bedroom

Remember when I mentioned I was going to be showing more of the casita/townhome place decor? Well, here I am. 

This photo right here was from the upstairs master bedroom. Even though the place had carpet, and by carpet I mean nasty carpet that they refused to replace no matter how many times I requested it. Anyway, due to this situation I decided to deep clean the carpet and then I installed laminate floors on top of the carpet with the help of a friend. I think about this scenario and I can't help but to laugh out loud writing this post. I got myself to Home Depot, got the cheapest most tolerable to the eyes laminate floors, then we got to work. It took us several hours and into the night, to the point that the crazy neighbor complained to the office and turn others near the building as my enemies simply because she couldn't handle a few hours of noise the first week of me moving into the place. 

After all these mess the room looked decent, with the new floors it felt more inviting and fresh, wall art was a find from GOODWILL, my White quilted comforter from IKEA, handmade velvet decorative pillows, nightstands and Beige lamps, I couldn't be happier. While the neighbors hold a grudge the entire lease time I was there, I can say it was worth it because my place was so cute!

Again, this was one of my nightmares rentals but I made it work and made some of my best personal memories in this place.

Let's Do Lunch Here...! | Dining Room

 

When this set up was done I was in one of the worse apartments situations. This one I want to say was the second worse rental. The first one I don't even think is worth going into details because well is was just bad and I'm keeping it positive here, lol!

I really, really wanted to love this place. This place was the first casita/townhome I have lived in and I was so excited about it. But, things didn't turn out as expected just because of management and the way they didn't clean the space as I was told and other things...

I didn't let this situation keep me down for too long. I decided to look at it as a decor project and got myself very excited again about it. I cleaned the place extremely good, write down a plan on how I wanted to use the space and decorate it with a more organic desert vibe. 

This time I used more brown, tan and neutral colors and the space started to look so super chic and elegant. The way I arranged the furniture was just perfect for the space, even though I had two levels , the space was quite small for the items I own. It worked just fine because like I mentioned before I sat down and wrote down a plan. 

There is so much more I'm going to share about this particular apartment because the best thing that happen in this place is not that I had to quarantine in this place [ One of the most terrifying things ever ] But, the fact that I used this negative scenario in my life and made it into a business. Under these circumstances and horrible apartment living, I created my decor website LADOSIMPLE.COM and now I get to make handmade decor items, hand painted art like the ones hanging on the wall in this photo and I have sold several pillow covers so far and my art has gotten the attention from several people as a very elegant, minimal and chic looking art that gets their attention.

Corner Morning Light | Living Room

Morning light shining through. Loving this summer early mornings, they have the best tranquility to start the day with the right mindset. It also helps with enjoying your morning drinks, let it be coffee, tea, smoothie, etc..Take 5 minutes of each morning to meditate in your favorite corner. This corner is my go to spot most mornings and it is just a true delight.
